July 2009 - Concrete Estate's House & Garage Move
THE FIRST & ONLY CONCRETE STRUCTURE EVER RELOCATED ON LONG ISLAND.

The house built entirely out of concrete block was elevated with 18 hydraulic jacks powered by a Unified Hydraulic jacking Machine built by Modern Hydraulics of Nevada. The house was then pulled forward using advanced gear driven winches mounted on our trucks.
The concrete blocks in the house as well as the garage were built in an very rare interlocking fashion rather then the standard staggered design. This made the house and garage extremely unstable and delicate. Our well known reputation for precision and safety was a primary reason we were hired for this job. To ensure that the house would not crack during the move, we inserted over 40 tons of steel beams underneath the structure and wrapped the perimeter of the house with a steel collar to ensure stability.
This is the only concrete structure ever relocated on Long Island and one of the few concrete structures built in the unstaggered design ever moved in the United States.
