Historical Moves

Since 1926, We have been able to prove our dedication to structural moving success time and time again. From being the first company on Long Island to utilize hydraulics, the first and only to move concrete building's and still today the company that the United States Army Corps of Engineers turns to when they need house moving services.

Throughout the past 83 years, we have had the privilege to be involved in most of the more unique or challenging moves that happen on Long Island. Some of these projects include moving a Bridgehampton windmill, relocating four 90,000 pound propane tanks, elevating 30 log cabins for a development project, moving 14 homes off and away from the encroaching ocean in Westhampton Beach for the Army Corps of Engineers and the relocation of a 16,000 square foot warehouse through a sandpit in Medford N.Y.

From lifting massive beach clubs to relocating church's through the streets, from pulling beachfront homes away from the ocean to hauling garages across farms, Dawn House Movers can help you with your project regardless to the size, weight or complexity of the project.

Below is a small selection of photos taken from several projects.

With some help

"Stan Kazel of Dawn House & Building Movers, who came highly recommended, was hired to take on the challenge of moving this 300 ton mansion will both fireplaces attached" - Newsday.

This 600,000 pound Victorian styled mansion in Southampton New York, was elevated and a 13 foot basement was excavated underneath.

The story behind this job began when the homeowners discovered the 200+ locust posts holding up their dream home were deteriorating. After planning the job, they hired Dawn by lowest bid.  We then elevate the structure off of the rotten locust posts, remove all locust posts, and excavate a 13 foot basement.
