Department of Entomology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution
The Department of Systematic Biology - Entomology is one of seven departments which comprise the Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution. Areas of specialty are headed by the Curator-in-Charge and are staffed by Curators and Associate Curators. The U.S. Herbarium holds a total 4.5 million specimens, making this collection among the ten largest in the world representing about 8% of the plant collection resources of the United States.
