The Procedure After your eye has been completely numbed using "eye drop" anesthesia, an eyelid holder will be placed between your eyelids to prevent blinking. The instrument known as a microkeratome is used to make a protective flap in the cornea. During the process a little pressure may be felt, but no discomfort. You will be asked to look at a target light as the laser reshapes your cornea, usually in less than a minute.
