JAY W. MORELAND, P.A.

Jay W. Moreland was born in Sewickly, Pennsylvania (1951) obtained his undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio (1973) and his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  (1976)

Upon graduation from law school, he served in the United States Air Force as an Assistance Staff Judge Advocate (1976-1980).  During that time, he served as a prosecutor and a defense counsel as an assistant claims officer handling claims made against the United States Government.

Upon completion of his military service he was honorably discharged and began practicing law in New Port Richey, Florida (1980) where he has continued to practice to this day.

He is married (since 1974), and has four children.

He is a member of the West Pasco Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, and a former officer of the Allgood Altman Inns of Court. He is adjunct instructor at Pasco - Hernando Community College Paralegal Program.

He is admitted to the Ohio and the Florida Bars, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Tax Court.

In addition to serving in private practice, Mr. Moreland is certified as a County, Circuit Civil, and Family Law Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida.  He has also served as a Special Master in Pasco County for Family Law Matters.
