   If you are concerned about the health and safety of your pets when the need arrives to board them, consider the half-century old Ludworth Kennels founded on a 100-year-old horse farm in Hastings-on-Hudson.

   On this acre and a half wooded site, Ludworth has converted its former barn and stalls to grass and stone runs - There's no cement here, so concerned is the kennel for the welfare of its boarding responsibilities.

   This is a third-generation, family-owned and managed enterprise under the personal direction of Tom Braig and his wife Mary, aided by their equally concerned younger Braigs - Tom Jr., Lindsay, Tim and Taylor.

   Over the years, the Braigs have cared for dogs of all persuasions, uncounted number of cats, along with more eclectic pets such as parakeets, pet pigs, even a striped tiger. In fact, the Braigs can professionally care for any domesticated animal. Professional grooming is also available on site.

   Capacity of the kennel is 55 dogs and 13 cats who, incidentally, have their own cateria, a protected porch with a view.

   Pets are required to have necessary vaccinations. A veterinarian is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In case of an emergency, the Braigs ask that boarders leave a name, address and telephone number of their own personal veterinarian.

   Ludworth has convenient access to the three major Westchester highways, Sprain Brook Parkway, Saw Mill Parkway and the New York State Thruway.

   Rates are $24.00 a day for dogs and $12.00 for cats. Checkout time is 12 Noon. Advance reservations are required. Pick-up and drop-off service available.
