Oxford Child Care Center has established a series of objectives.

They are the following:
* to help your child develop a positive attitude.
* to provide an environment in which your child will feel safe and secure
* to help your child foster good relationships with his peers.
* to offer a setting where his individual strengths will be recognized and enhanced.
* to offer a variety of learning activities that will enable your child to grow and learn.
* to provide a sound foundation for later learning.
* to increase the parental role as the primary source of your childs development.  

INFANT THROUGH PRE-TODDLER PROGRAM

The importance of our infant through pre-toddler program is to stimulate and enhance your childs growth. Activities for these groups will explore the senses of hearing, sight, touch and taste.
* Strengthen whole body, arms, legs and back with exercise e.g. crawling, standing, walking, climbing, in addition to walkers and swings
* Exploration of body-using games, mirrors, floor toys " Use of appropriate toys - e.g. busy boxes, rattles, push toys, teething toys, soft blocks and balls, puppets, stuffed animals and picture books
* Caregivers talk and sing songs
* Listen to tapes of music and stories
* Finger plays, peek-a-boo, bubble blowing
* Read stories
* Interaction with other children and adults

In addition to the above program, developmentally appropriate activities are planned for the pre-toddlers which includes:
* Arts and crafts - including paints, crayons, etc.
* Sand and water play
* Exercises
* Puzzles and games

TODDLERS PROGRAM

Socialization Skills
* Learn interaction skills: sharing, taking turns, conversations, etc.
* Learn to work independently and with the group, Learn to express needs and wants
* Learn acceptable behaviors to show anger, disappointment, frustration

Language Arts and Math
* Develop and strengthen language
* Develop good listening habits and ability to follow directions, Develop memory and attention skills, Introduction to the Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes and Colors

Physical Education
* Indoor and outdoor play which includes gym time, playground time

Art
* Holiday and Seasonal projects
* Use of many mediums with a stress on the process not the product e.g. paints, paste, crayons, markers, yarn etc.

In addition to the above curriculum, Oxford Child Care Center provides the following enrichment activities:

Physical Education - Provides opportunity for development of muscles and coordination

Music - an appreciation of music through songs and activities

Dance - offered once a week, taught by a professional dance instructor introducing self-awareness, tumbling, pre-ballet, training, partner dancing, coordination and rhythm.
