Why Bamboo?
Bamboo provides a look unlike any other found in flooring. There is simply nothing else that looks like it, and it's no longer found only in homes decorated in an Asian style. Its natural colors are serene, even and elegant, and it can be stained to fit any decor.

But what about durability?
Not all species of bamboo are suitable for flooring. Our species, Hairy Bamboo, is the hardest species available. Since we only use the hardest part of each stalk, we can safely say that our bamboo is among the hardest and most durable in the world. Its hardness compares to maple, but without the instability and drastic color changes inherent in maple.

Oak trees die when harvested. What about bamboo?
Our species of bamboo reaches an incredible sixty feet in height in only five years. It can be cut down to ground level and it will regenerate itself in another five years. This means the forests live forever. The harvesting is selective and controlled by the government, assuring the least amount of disruption to animals living in the forests.

I've seen alot of color variation in some bamboo floors. What about this one?
All natural products will have some color variation. Our bamboo, on the other hand, is carefully selected to minimize the range of color variation you will see in other bamboos in the market. We're proud of our color consistency.

Solid wood floors can't be installed everywhere. What about Nikzad Import Bamboo?
Nikzad Import Bamboo can be installed in every room in the house, including basements. It can also be glued directly to concrete floors without the mess and expense of added plywood subfloors. Just take care not to get the floor very wet, and mop up spills promptly.

What about baseboards, moldings and my staircase?
We are one of the few companies that carry a full line of baseboards, stair treads, reducers and even bamboo plywood - in thicknesses of ¼", ½" and ¾". You can match your kitchen cabinets, wet bar or staircase to your new floor easily.

I've seen cheaper bamboos in the market. What do I get for the extra cost?
We can truly say that you get what you pay for! Not all bamboos currently offered use our species. since there are over 1,000 species of bamboo and they all look alike to the untrained eye, it is easy to confuse premium species with lesser grades. Since we use only the hardest part of the hardest bamboo available, you are assured of the finest bamboo money can buy. Also, our finish contains aluminum oxide, which is virtually unheard of in the market. Other bamboos have acrylic finishes of varying quality. Few companies are willing to talk about their finish technology since it can't compare to ours.

I've heard that aluminum oxide-finished floors are hard to recoat. What about Nikzad Import Bamboo?
Aluminum oxide-finished floors can be difficult to refinish. Few off-the-shelf polyurethanes will adhere to it. We've solved this problem by adding yet another coat of pure acrylic urethane over the aluminum oxide layers at the factory. This allows the floor to be refinished just like a standard urethane-finished floor.

Is the flooring hard to maintain?
No. Simply sweep or vacuum as often as needed to remove sand, dirt and grit. Clean with any spray-on hardwood floor clean and a terry-cloth mop. These are sold in most home improvement stores. Don't use water, wax or oil soap. If you find heel or smudgemarks, a little hardwood floor cleaner on a towel will remove them.

If I badly scratch my floor, what do I do?
Not to worry! Keep a few extra pieces of the flooring in a safe place. Keep it flat and in a dark place, away from sunlight. A skilled installer can replace individual boards. Also, the floor can be sanded and refinished up to three times by a competent installer.
